Open Garden in Little Hartley
3 September, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
A new garden with a different look. There was no garden here 6 years ago, just paddocks.
The garden was designed in a naturalistic way with floral meadows & woodlands that would complement each other, hence the name ‘Wild Meadows’.
Skilfully planned, the plantings of trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials, bulbs and grasses display seasonal change from spring subtle greens to summer riots of colour, autumn berries and leaves to winter russets and bare stem structure. There are many unusual plants that would excite the senses.
Spring is a mixture of fresh greens and colour from bulbs and herbaceous plantings that awaken from winters rest. In a matter of weeks these displays come and go and are followed by others to make the garden that more interesting. Here Siberian Iris and purple Hesperis intermingle with other bulbs to dominate the meadows.
Entry Fee $8.
This garden is a sanctuary and comes with restrictions. No ball games. No dogs. Children are welcome but must be supervised. Please respect this garden and leave the plants for others to appreciate.
Address 243a Cox’s River Road, Little Hartley.
Best to park in Pippin Place, as there is no parking on site.
